Log in to the GST Portal

Generate a Challan

You will need to enter the amount you plan to pay under several headings, including the following on the ‘Create Challan’ page:

After entering the sums, choose your payment method, which includes:

  • NEFT/RTGS
  • Credit/debit cards
  • Online banking

Once the details have been verified, click Generate Challan.’ You will be given a distinct Challan Reference Number (CRN). Always use this number to complete the payment.

Make the Payment

After obtaining the CRN, pay using the method of your choice. If you select online banking, your bank’s website will be displayed. You must finish the payment using the NEFT/RTGS method.

Provide the CRN by following your bank’s procedures. To avoid any penalties or late fees, make sure the payment is done before the deadline.

Download the Payment Receipt

Once the payment has been successfully made, a receipt will appear. A copy of this receipt should be downloaded and stored for your records. You must have this receipt, which acts as evidence of payment, for your accounting needs.

Verify Payment Status

Revisit the GST portal to confirm the payment status after making it. To determine if your payment has been updated, go to ‘Services’ > ‘Payments’ > ‘Challan History.’

If the transaction was completed, the status should read “Paid.” Contact the GST helpline or your bank to resolve any issues.
